The Deceiver
I hate Satan, the king of lies and deception.
Sitting in my car, tears streaming down my face.
Defeated.
Tired of the destructive cycle of communication.
Tired of the tainted behaviors birthed from our childhood.
Tired of the lies that Satan placed in our young heads.
“I can do this alone.”
“I don’t matter.”
“I can never do anything right.”
“I have to be heard.”
I hate him.
I hate that he wants to destroy marriages.
Something God created as a beautiful covenant.
Satan twists our childhood wounds and tells us lies about ourselves,
And they viciously seize hold of our hearts and minds.
Squeezing. Debilitating.
A vow is made to protect.
Protect our hurting wounds.
Build a wall around the wound. A fortress. A stronghold.
Denial. Defend. Deflect. Destroy.
Relationships,
Force the wound into the open, bleeding, pulsating and oozing with acid,
Unintentionally spilling onto loved ones.
Come Holy Spirit.
Cover us with your healing balm,
YOUR TRUTH.
YOUR LOVE.
The only antidotes.
